I have realized that as I have become older the down time I need to myself in between friends is more and more. I used to spend all of my free time with someone around, now I would go crazy. I need hours to myself or relaxing with Lauren before I feel I have enough energy to spend that with someone else. Does everyone get this way? Why do we do this?
I feel the same way and I'm not sure if age has more to do with it or not, but I believe that it is very necessary to take some 'alone time' periodically. It is draining in a way to constantly be around other people and though we are social beings, we are also made like our Creator and need times of solitude as well.
It's kind of a remarkable feeling to just be alone and quiet for a while too.
P.s. Hi Peter! We miss you guys! sorry for the ramblings...

Hey Peter... Miss you guys. I check your blog from time to time. Take a MBTI test; it sounds like you are or are becoming more of an introvert. This isn't about being unsociable; it's just about recharging your batteries in solitude.

Great and hilarious article about introverts here: http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200303/rauch
Two thirds of Americans test as extroverts, and they think us introverts are damaged or weird... they try to fix us.
Most creative people are introverts. Thoughtful people too. So, own it, embrace it, and be yourself!
Hugs. Bill
